Business Relationship Manager

Monson Savings Bank is currently seeking a Business Relationship Manager responsible for furthering the organization’s mission through establishing and growing successful banking relationships with commercial deposit customers. This is primarily achieved by conducting external sales calls to local businesses to acquire new and expand existing business relationships.

This Exempt, Full-time position works within the Loan & Operations Center located at 75 Post Office Park, Wilbraham, MA, and travels to meet with prospects and business customers within the greater Springfield MA area.

Some of the position responsibilities include:

  • Takes ownership in assisting customers with inquiries and resolving issues timely, efficiently, and with a high degree of customer satisfaction. Provides the highest level of customer service in a professional, respectful, and courteous manner.
  • Meets with prospective customers to gather information including financial statements. Analyzes information, collaborates with appropriate departments of the bank, and creates a formal written request for proposal that is presented to senior management and ultimately the prospective customer.
  • Opens, closes and performs maintenance on various deposit accounts and assists customers with wire transfer documentation.
  • Participates in community and civic organizations and attends various networking functions as a means of promoting the bank.  Establishes and nurtures contacts within the community.
  • Attends and assists in executing Bank sponsored and/or supported community events, on and off-site.

Education/Experience: Preferred candidate has a Bachelor’s Degree and 3 to 5 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications: Position requires a professional, customer service-oriented leader with knowledge of the banking industry and retail operations. Business calling skills and demonstrated success in building/expanding customer relationships essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills including report writing, presentation, and networking. Must be adaptable, reliable and possess the ability to work successfully independently and in a team environment. Computer literate, i.e., familiar with Windows environment, Microsoft office suite of products, basic keyboard skills; highly organized, with ability to prioritize and manage time; ability to manage multiple responsibilities; proven interpersonal skills. Driving to meet with customers and prospects, or attend bank related functions is essential.
